Have you heard? Charles Carroll, executive chef of  River Oaks Country Club, will visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan next month for Operation H.O.T. – Honoring Our Troops.

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak will be one of several NFL coaches visiting the troops as well.

The trip comes after raising $150,000 in donations, getting government clearance and working out the logistics that come with organizing an event for close to 2,000 troops.

Mr. Carroll, Mr. Kubiak, and a host of others will organize a meal and thank you event for soldiers.

The troops will be served a variety of Cajun dishes including  gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and jambalaya.  And  of course, we sent along a heaping supply of our pocket-sized B4, single-use hand sanitizer packets.

We can’t imagine a better place to be than in the pocket of soldier –cleanliness within reach indeed!
